UP CAGAYANOS : EGGA KA LA TA FUTU

A duly recognized organization in the University of the Philippines Los Baños aimed at serving the Cagayano community through promoting its three chief principles - academic excellence, leadership, and service.

Twenty-seven years ago at a famous dormitory in the University of the Philippines Los Baños, it dawned on certain Cagayano students that an organization be formed to bring together UPLB students who hailed from the Cagayan province. The idea was fulfilled on August of the following year, 1993, as the organization whose 26 charter members agreed to name UP Cagayanos was recognized by the prestigious University.

Pia Guillen first headed the organization which, for more than two decades now, has succeeded in upholding its three chief principles.

The UP Cagayanos has continually promoted its values through the different activities and programs it holds in the province and the interests it supports in the University.

Today, through the enthusiasm of its resident members and the vigor it draws from its alumni, affiliate members, charter members, and honorary members, the UP Cagayanos shares not only a common culture and incomparably strong ties among its members but also the vision of an advancing Cagayano community – rich with its forward-looking citizens and in its culture –contributing to the realization of national progress.
